A good word!

To give additional context to what you have written, I will say that the body of Christ haven't – for lack of a better word – 'sold' the will of God. As such, we have many Christians who dread that will.

We forget that (i) the sacrifices God expected of the fathers of faith are not necessarily the same he will demand from us today (because of cultural evolution which the Bible times didn't capture), (ii) because he is a good father, he will not test us with 'less than' so he can confirm our commitment to him, (iii) because of the same point, he knows us far too well; what we can or can't handle. These informs his intentionality in planning the details of our lives.

All in all, no matter how much we try to sidestep his will, he is ultimately sovereign, and His will will eventually prevail.
